Can Marion County Democratic Party Chairman Ed Treacy Find Candidates to Fill Vacancies in Three Competitive Indianapolis Council Races?

Marion County Democratic
Chairman Ed Treacy
Looking over the primary field, I see that the Democrats have six  Indianapolis City-County Council districts where they failed to field a candidate, Districts 5, 13, 14, 21, 23, 24 and 25.

Three of the Republican incumbents in those districts - Bob Lutz (13), Marilyn Pfisterer (14) and Ben Hunter (21) - are in competitive districts with Democratic baselines exceeding 40%.  Once the baseline gets to 40%, the minority party has a legitimate shot at winning depending on the candidate, the race run and the vagaries of turnout.

Marion County Democratic Chairman Ed Treacy has a lot of work ahead of him.  He has until June 30th to find people to fill the candidate vacancies. The failure to fill the vacancies means that the Republicans can focus on other races.
